Lesson 7 – A Time of God’s Wrath (part 2)
The Seven Bowls are the Wrath
of God
o John’s chronology makes a transition from
Chapter 11 to Chapter 15
o Rev 11:19 And
the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant
appeared in His temple,
o Rev 15:5
After these things I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of
testimony in heaven was opened,
o The Seven Bowls contains the Seven Plagues
of the Wrath of God.
o Rev 16:1 And
I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, "Go and
pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God into the earth."
o The Seven Bowls of Wrath
o Bowl 1 – poured into the earth; malignant sore upon
the men who had the mark of the beast.
o Bowl 2 – poured into the sea; became blood, every
living thing in the sea died.
o Bowl 3 – poured into the rivers; became blood, Thou
hast given them blood to drink.
o Bowl 4 – poured upon the sun; it scorches men with
fire and fierce heat, they did not repent.
o Bowl 5 – poured upon the throne of the beast; his
kingdom became darkened, gnawed their tongues because of pain, they blasphemed
God and they did not repent of their deeds.
o Bowl 6 – poured upon the great river, the Euphrates;
its water dried up, to prepared for the Kings from the East. Spirits of demons
went to gather the Kings of earth to Armageddon.
o Bowl 7 – poured upon the air; “It is done”, great
earthquake, islands fled away, huge hailstones.
(Read down each column for the chronology of events.)
The War of Armageddon
o Christ appears on a white horse with His
armies on white horses (symbolic of new government).
o Rev 19:11 And
I saw heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and He who sat upon it is called
Faithful and True; and in righteousness He judges and wages war.
o Rev 19:12 And
His eyes are a flame of fire, and upon His head are many diadems; and He has a
name written upon Him which no one knows except Himself.
o Rev 19:13 And
He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of
God.
o Rev 19:14 And
the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were
following Him on white horses.
o His weapon is unique.
o Rev 19:15 And
from His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may smite the nations;
and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the
fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.
o The antichrist and those with the mark of
the Beast are thrown into the lake of fire.
o Rev 19:19 And
I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, assembled to make
war against Him who sat upon the horse, and against His army.
o Rev 19:20 And
the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in
his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast
and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of
fire which burns with brimstone.
o The armies from the Kings of the East are
killed with the sword of His mouth.
o Rev 19:21 And
the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat
upon the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
o He captures Satan and binds him from
activity for 1000 years.
o Rev 20:1 And
I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great
chain in his hand.
o Rev 20:2 And
he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and
bound him for a thousand years,
o Rev 20:3 and
threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he should
not deceive the nations any longer,
o We will reign with Christ on earth for
1000 years.
o Rev 20:4 Then
I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw
the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus
and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or
his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand;
and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Lesson Seven Summary
o God will reap a great harvest of believers
during the last 3 ½ years by:
o Pouring out His
Spirit on all mankind, Joel 2: 27-32;
o Protecting His
bondservants from radiation and poisons, Rev 7:3 and 9:4;
o Giving His
bondservants power to cast out demons and heal the sick, Mark 16;
o Giving Christian
nations military power to defend Israel and Christians, Rev 11:3.
o The preaching of the gospel is finished
when the Beast nations defeat the Christian nations defending Israel in
Jerusalem.
o The conditions for the resurrection of the
witnesses found in Rev 11 are found in other scriptural references for the
resurrection of the believer.
o Christ begins to conquer the earth at the
7th and last Trumpet.
o The Seven Bowles or Plagues are the “wrath
of God” poured out on the earth.
o The Beast nations and the Kings from the
East gather to Armageddon for the war with Christ and His resurrected/raptured
army.
o Christ begins His rule on earth after
defeating the world nations and binding Satan so he cannot deceive the nations
for 1000 years.
Technology in Bible Prophecy
Summary
o Our current military technologies and the
nuclear war effects described by the prophets of the Bible are the best
indicators that Christ
will return in our generation.
o John’s vision in Revelation was found to be
literal and in chronological order from John’s sequential viewpoints. John is occasionally interrupted by angels or
specific signs to describe the people or nations involved in the chronological
events. Christ uses some symbols to describe future individuals, nations,
people groups, and kingdoms.
o Symbols for current world forces were
identified for the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Rev 6) and the 4 end time
beasts described by Daniel (Daniel 7).
o The nuclear ICBM descriptions found in the
6th and 7th Seal can be accomplished by only two nations today; the USA and Russia.
This technical fact identifies Russia as the Kingdom that Satan
influences into starting the nuclear war (WW III).
o After WW III, a global government will be
set up by 10 powerful nations to prevent future use of nuclear weapons. Through Satan’s power, Russia will dominate this government.
o This Beast Kingdom ruled by the antichrist
(from Russia) will remove 3 kings (powerful Christian nations) and begin WW IV
by attacking Israel and the Christian nations.
o A 3 ½ year time line was developed and
correlated with God’s “Appointed Times”.
This time line
begins at the 6th Seal, the day of the first ICBM nuclear war and ends 3 ½ years later at the Feast of
Tabernacles (Sukkoth). Christ returns on
Rosh Hashanah.
o Christ’s plan for an end time harvest of
believers starts by casting Satan out of heaven. God will then pour out His Spirit (latter rain) and seal
His bondservants during the last 3 ½ years. He will protect
them from radiation/poisons and give them signs of spiritual powers, new tongues, and healing as
they witness and prophecy about Christ.
